GARMENT CARE

Garment care is important to prolonging the life of your clothing and keeping your beautiful garments looking their best.

Below we've given some helpful steps to caring for your garments at home.
This information is most applicable to the majority of our garments, but not all.
In particular linens, rayons, cottons, viscoses, rayon fujiette, eco-vera or any fabrics with this blend.

Please note with some fabrics as it's normal for shrinkage to occur after washing. Hot steaming the garment will regain its original shape and fit.

We hope this helps you with treasuring your clothing for years to come.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
  • Gentle hand wash in cold water
  • Use a mild detergent
  • Roll in a towel gently to remove excess water
  • Hang dry in shade
  • Use a hand held steamer to steam your garments back to shape
  • Do not machine wash
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not hot/warm wash.
  • Piling/bobbling can occur in some fabrics due to friction. This is normal from wear and can easily be removed with a lint remover.
CARING FOR YOUR KNITWEAR

Knitwear requires special care. Always follow the instructions on the care label. For helpful tips on caring for your knitwear, please see the guide below.

  • We recommend washing all knitwear by hand (unless the label says Dry-clean only). This is the best way to keep your garment looking beautiful for years to come.
  • Storing your knitwear correctly is important to keep it looking as good as new. Never hang knitwear, always store flat.
  • Pilling or balling is not unusual with knitwear. You can remove the little balls by hand or with a de-pilling device that can be purchased from a haberdashery shop. Washing often settles the fibres and pilling is less likely after your first wash.
BENEFITS OF HAND WASHING GARMENTS
  • Increase garments lifespan
  • Helps preserve fibres and detail-work
  • More effective rinsing
  • Saves water
BENEFITS OF STEAMING GARMENTS
  • Removes wrinkles and gives a more relaxed casual look
  • Relaxes fibres of fabrics after washing, bringing them back to their original shape.
  • Kills odor-causing bacteria
  • Removes allergens
  • Freshens items between washing
HOW TO STEAM A GARMENT
  • Use a hand held clothing steamer
  • Ensure the garment is hanging
  • Keep a few inches of distance between the steamer and the fabric
  • Steam by running the steamer in downward strokes along the fabric
  • Steam the garment inside out to get rid of wrinkles
  • After steaming your garment will feel damp, this is normal.
  • Let your garment sit for 5-10 minutes after steaming before you put it on or hang it in your closet.
  • Tips: Spray light with water when steaming to help relax the fabric and pull down gently on the fabric. You can steam multiple times.
